Academic Profile

Dr. Folajogun V. FALAYE obtained a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Geography (1980) from the University of Ibadan; Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (1983) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Master’s degree and PhD in Educational Evaluation in 1990 and 1995 respectively and a post graduate diploma in education in 1998 from the University of Ibadan.

Dr. Falaye had her post-doctoral training in the graduate School of education, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA in 2004 under the McArthur staff development grant. Among others, she also obtained certificates in provision of reproductive health services including HIV and AIDS (1999) from the University of Exeter, UK and Participatory Learning for Action (PLA) Training for Trainers: Population Concern, London, U.K

Dr. Falaye is a member of learned societies such as the National Association of Educational Researchers and Evaluators, Nigerian Geographical Association and Social studies association of Nigeria.

Her research interest covers educational evaluation focusing Social Science subjects. She participated in nationwide evaluation of teaching and learning (Measurement of Learning Achievement & National Assessment of Educational Performance) and developed manuals commissioned by the National Teachers’ Institute and other agencies for training and re-training teachers in Nigeria. She was one of the consultants from the Institute of Education that undertook a Baseline Study and Participatory Rapid Assessment Covering Gender, Teacher/Instructor Gap Analysis, Labour Market and Informal Sector Profiles, funded by the African Development Bank (ADB). She also participated in the implementation of the ‘EKO Secondary Education Project’ of Lagos State, assisted by the World. She has published widely in local and international journals of repute, some of which are listed below.
